WRMS Weekly Update 4/6/25

Hello West Rocks!

We closed the week on a positive note and are ready for our Autism Acceptance Spirit Week sponsored by NJHS! April is Autism Acceptance Month, and we’re proud to support the campaign once again as a school community. Please check out theme for each day of this week as we lead into Spring Break. The lineup is above.

On Monday, students will begin the day with an extended homeroom period. During this time, they will participate in our first Autism Acceptance lesson as part of our ongoing work to build empathy and understanding in our school community.

Homeroom teachers will also be checking student Chromebooks to ensure each device is present and functioning properly. If any issues are identified, we will follow up as needed. Please note that families are responsible for the cost of any damages to Chromebooks

Congratulations our grade 8 students that earned PAWS awards on Wednesday. Check out the photos from the events posted on our social media pages! 

• Q4 starts Monday, April 7. Q3 grades and comments will be finalized by the end of the week. 
  • Please utilize the PowerSchool Parent Portal for updated information. 
• The NPS Board of Education approved the last day of school for this school year as Friday, June 13.

GIFTED AND TALENTED (GT) PARENT NOMINATION

Parent Nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program: Our Gifted and Talented Program (GT) embraces a rolling admissions process. Student performance is evaluated continually. Parent/Guardian nominations are accepted once per year in the spring for current sixth and seventh grade students. Our nomination window opens on March 31, 2025 and closes on April 11, 2025.
