WRMS Weekly Update 3/30/25

WRMS Weekly Update 3/30/25
WRMS Staff

Hello West Rocks!

A special thanks to Ms. Fusarelli and the Mural Club for showcasing their talent to create a quilt based on the book The All-Together Quilt by Lizzy Rockwell. Schools across the district each designed an original piece of artwork to celebrate reading throughout the month of March. Check out the pictures above!

Thank you for a great week and your participation in the Panorama Survey! We give this survey once per year and use the information to make decisions. All stakeholders are included, so it provides a balanced perspective on all our key areas. Because we reached our goal, each grade level will get an extended recess one day before break!

Congratulations our grade 6 and 7 students that were recipients of our Q2 PAWS Awards on Wednesday and Thursday! Thank you to those families that were able to attend to help recognize and celebrate their student. Grade 8 will be Wednesday, April 2. Check out the photos from the events posted on our social media pages!

AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH - APRIL

April is Autism Acceptance Month, and we’re proud to support the campaign once again as a school community. Throughout the month, we’ll engage in activities that promote understanding, inclusion, and respect for all.

  • We will have “Wednesday Blues” and students and staff will be encouraged to wear blue in support of the Autism Acceptance Campaign.
  • Blue WRMS T-shirts are on sale for $10 and all proceeds will be donated to Autism research.
  • West Rocks is encouraging students, staff, and families to attend the City of Norwalk’s “Light it Up Blue” event at the Norwalk Town Green on April 1 @ 6:30pm. Attending students will earn service hours.

SHREK JR.

Shrek Jr. was an OGRE-SIZED success! A HUGE thank you to the entire WRMS community for showing up in a big way to support our incredibly talented students. Over the course of three days, we welcomed nearly 1,200 audience members—what an amazing turnout! 💚

A special shoutout goes to our incredible parent volunteers—your donations of time, food, and energy helped everything run smoothly behind the scenes. We truly couldn’t have done it without you! And of course, the biggest thanks to our dedicated Drama Club staff, Dr. Golding, our advisor and show producer, Ms. Zavala and Ms. Breault, our directors, Mr. Kendon, our choreographer, and Mrs. Genovese, our musical director. Dr. Golding and the staff poured countless hours into making this production a magical experience for both cast and audience. Your passion and commitment helped our students truly shine on stage. Bravo to everyone involved in bringing Shrek Jr. to life—we’re still feeling the magic!
