Hello West Rocks! 

Thank you to our National Junior Honor Society for sponsoring our first ever Shades of Blue Spirit Week aligned with our campaign to support Autism Awareness and Acceptance throughout April. 

On Thursday, 100 students in grade 7-8 in our dual language program went on a field trip to the Repertorio Theater in New York City! Shout-out to our Dual Language Coordinator Mrs. Chimento for organizing such a great trip! Our students and staff went into the city, ate lunch at a restaurant, and saw a show! Check out a few pictures above! There is also a short video created by Ms. Ramirez that is posted our social media pages!

Quarter 3 grades are now final and available through the Parent Portal in PowerSchool. Please review all grades and comments and reach out to your student’s teacher directly with any questions. For questions on attendance, please contact your student’s school counselor. 
 
The next Parent Square post will be the weekend of April 26.

As we get ready to close out the year with a great Q4, our teachers have asked our students to continue to read independently and practice using IXL over Spring Break! Please support our efforts and encourage your student to read 20 minutes each day and practice math and science using IXL. Our teachers have assigned practice problems. We want to prevent learning loss! 

Grade 8 

Please refer to the Parent Square messages from Dr. Golding regarding the Quassy trip and yearbooks. Families with a student going to NYC can view itinerary updates on the video presentation (link below). The final itinerary was shared with families via email Friday morning. Grade 7
 

Reminder! The seventh grade will be attending another field trip this year on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 to the Bronx Zoo in the Bronx, NY. This field trip is connected to our Grade 7 Next Generation Science Standards. Students will have the opportunity to visit over 4,000 animals over 265 acres including the Gorilla Exhibit!
