Weekly Update 11/15/25

Weekly Update 11/15/25
WRMS Staff

Hello West Rocks!

We had another great week at West Rocks!

Honoring Our Veterans
With no school on Tuesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day, we took time this week to thank members of our own staff who have served our country: Mr. Keeling and Mr. McKinney from our custodial team and Officer Prada, our School Resource Officer. We are deeply grateful for their service and dedication to both our country and our school community.

Sport-a-Thon Fundraiser
Our annual Sport-a-Thon Fundraiser is in full swing! The competition is heating up among individual students, homerooms, and grade levels. We held our third raffle on Friday and celebrated another winner…congratulations! Check out the leaderboards above and more information below to see how your student’s grade level is doing.

Student-Led Conferences
On Thursday, we kicked off our Student-Led Conferences initiative with an extended homeroom. This year, each student is paired with an advisor and a small group (about 10 students) to begin creating a digital portfolio of their work throughout the year.

In March, families will be invited to participate in the conferences, where students will present their portfolios, highlighting artifacts that showcase their growth, pride, and accomplishments. Ask your student about their advisor and what they’ve started so far! We’ll share more updates as we approach the conference dates. One of the slides from Thursday's lesson is above!

Thankful Notes Project
A special thank you to our PTA for sponsoring our annual “Thankful Notes” activity in homerooms. Students have been writing postcards expressing gratitude to staff members who have made a difference for them this year. Some students brought these home to complete, and we’ll provide additional time on Monday. The PTA will help distribute the notes to staff before the Thanksgiving break, a wonderful way to spread kindness and appreciation.

Early Dismissal Days
Please remember that we have early dismissals this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students will be dismissed at 12:50 PM each day.

As always, please refer to the district calendar for holidays, early dismissals, and other important dates throughout the year.

As we approach the holiday season, we’re grateful for our students, staff, and families who make West Rocks such a strong and caring community.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Adam Reynolds
Principal, West Rocks Middle School

SPORT-A-THON 2025

This Thursday, November 20 is the big day! There will be inflatables, games, an obstacle course and more!

All students will get to participate; however, students that raise at least $10 will get extra time! We will have a raffle of a game or sports equipment each day next week leading up to the event. We are getting closer to reaching our goal of $10,000. If we do it, students will choose a color and dye my hair!

If you have not done so already, create your online account using this link! https://www.getmovinfundhub.com/login

Continue to be on the lookout for updates, incentives, and information for your student’s grade level leader. A portion of the money raised will go directly to support grade level activities.

MATH BOOSTERS! AFTER-SCHOOL

Failing to Nail Math? Stop the Struggle and Start Succeeding!

Is your student stuck in math confusion? Our flexible Math Booster Sessions are the turbo-boost they need to crush their next test and own the material! Students can attend for the full hour and a half across all three days or just drop by for targeted help. We meet in the Coaches' Room (195). Quick Reminder: Students must bring their own snack/fuel and have their own transportation sorted.

Ready for a grade-level glow-up?
