Pre-Premotion, Yearbooks, Obligations, and MORE!

7 school days until Promotion!

Hello Grade 8 Families-

Please read to the bottom. There is a lot of important information including this week's Pre-Promotion Party, yearbooks, and more! We begin practicing for Promotion this Friday, June 7th!

DONATIONS
As we prepare for our Pre-Promotion Party and Promotion Breakfast, we are in need of A LOT of items, especially food! We need to feed ab out 250 people at each event. Please help out if you can. We need all families to pitch in. To sign-up for items or to help, please use this link. We do not have storage space; therefore, items cannot be dropped off until the date listed.
If you are donating gift cards or candy for our raffle, please turn those in by Tuesday, June 4th so that we can prepare the favors and plan for our raffle! 

If you cannot cook or shop and wish to make a cash donation, please venmo Yazmin Saldana - @Yazmin-Saldana. Any amount you can give is much appreciated. 

Pre-Promotion Party - Thursday, June 6th
Grade 8 students are invited to dinner and fun this Thursday at WRMS. Doors open at 5:00pm. Food will be served in the cafeteria. Students should be dropped off in front the of the building (just like the dance). Students will be checked-in and have any bags checked. Students will receive raffle tickets for the chance to win some AMAZING prizes including: gift cards, a laptop, an Apple Watch, and MORE!  There will be lawn games and an inflatable outside, as well as a 360 degree photo booth. We still need food for dinner! Please use the link in the above section to help out or the Venmo information to make a donation. STUDENTS MUST HAVE A RIDE WAITING IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AT 7:30PM.

Obligations
Tomorrow, Monday, June 3rd is Chromebook and charger collection. An obligation will be entered into Powerschool for any student who does not turn in any item. Obligations will also be entered for missing library books, sports uniforms, and loaner Chromebooks. Prices vary by uniform and book, but the following prices apply to technology:

• Verizon Chromebook - $350
• Chromebook Charger - $20
• Loaner Chromebook - $100

If your child is charged with an obligation, they will not receive tickets to the Promotion ceremony unless all charges have been taken care of. Obligations can be paid with cash or money order - no personal checks.

Yearbooks
Yearbooks will be distributed this Thursday, June 6th at the end of the day. We will also be enjoying ice cream sponsored by the PTA! There are 29 yearbooks left. If you have not purchased a yearbook online, you must join this waitlist to be eligible to purchase one of the remaining books. We will use this waitlist for purchasing this Thursday. Please have $35 cash that afternoon. If a student does not have cash that afternoon, we will go to the next person on the list. We will follow this procedure until we are sold out.

Student Speakers
The students who will be speaking at the Promotion ceremony have been selected and notified by email. All students who applied should check their student email for notification from Dr. Reynolds. Thank you to all who shared their ideas with us.
