Hello WRMS Grade 6 Students and Families!

This is a final reminder for tomorrow's GRADE 6 ORIENTATION! We are very excited to have our new Panthers meet their teachers, learn where their homeroom is, as well as receive and practice on their real lockers!

6th Grade Orientation is Tuesday, August 20 from 8:00-11:00 am.

Doors will open at 7:50 am.

Orientation ends at 11:00 am.

Orientation is for students only.

Students do not need any school supplies.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Students will get their homeroom assignment when they arrive at orientation.

BUS TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED AND BUS ROUTES ARE ATTACHED TO THIS POST.

ALL DROP-OFFS WILL BE IN THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. Our security guard, Mr. Will, will direct cars to the left parking lot as they pull in the front. The bus loop on the right is reserved for buses. Doors will open at 7:50 am. This will enable our staff to be stationed to receive our students! Our PTA will have a table out front for interested families!

Plan for the Day:

-All students will get a "grab and go" breakfast, check-in with our staff to learn their homeroom and teacher, then a National Junior Honor Society or Student Council member will escort them to their new homeroom!

-Students will participate in a community builder with their homeroom and teacher, get their locker and practice opening it, watch a special edition of Panther News, then come to the auditorium for a class meeting.

-We will end the morning with a quick lunch in the cafeteria.

Students will be dismissed to buses at 11:00 am from the cafeteria. Any student that is being picked up or walking will exit through the Aiken Street doors. ALL PICK-UPS WILL BE IN THE BACK OF THE SCHOOL IN THE AIKEN STREET PARKING LOT.

Although orientation ends at 11:00 am, please note that it might take some additional time to dismiss all students safely. We appreciate your patience.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

See you in the morning!

Adam Reynolds
Principal, West Rocks Middle School

PS. Returning grade 7-8 students can earn service hours for volunteering to help. Interested students should report to the cafeteria at 7:35 am and planned to be picked up at 11:05 am. Direct any questions to Grade 6 Team Leader Dr. Walters (waltersd@norwalkps.org).
