An Important Message from Mr. Reynolds:

    Hello West Rocks!

Congratulations to 8th grade Delta ELA teacher Mrs. Krista Gehringer for winning the Susan P. Bloom Discovery Award this year! Krista is a published author and we are lucky to have her working with our students!  Check out more information on her accomplishment:

On Wednesday, April 24, we will be celebrating Administrative Assistants’ Day! If you are visiting the school, please be sure to thank our hard-working administrative assistants. Also, Wednesday is our PTA’s fundraiser at the restaurant RioWe get a portion of the proceeds, so we are even having our PTA meeting at Rio on Wednesday night - please join us!

The 5th Graders from Silvermine Elementary visit on Thursday, 4/25/19.

Also on the 25th, teachers and support personnel will be honored across the district at our annual Excellence in Education Awards. This year, our teacher team is made up of our PBIS Committee: George Albano, Sheila Chimento, Sara Golding, Kelli Hibbard, Brian Ruther, and Dee Walters. Our support personnel is our para educator Ms. Tyner. Congratulations!

Saturday, April 27 is our Go Native! Planting Event with Home Depot. All students, staff and families are invited to help plant trees and plants, spread mulch, and clean up the West Rocks grounds. Home Depot will be joining us! It will be a great event.

Also, Grade 8 students select courses for 9th grade on April 30. The high school will send counselors down to work with our counselors and students.

Our NJHS Faculty Council is still working through the selection process (it's really tough!). We have to adjust the timeline until after the break.

The 8th Grade Scholar's Circle Ceremony is on May 29, 2019. Members will be notified before May and the Scholar Leader selection process will follow.

Have a happy and healthy break!

    Mr. Adam Reynolds

Interim Principal, West Rocks Middle School

PS. There are a number of PTA Board positions that will be open next year and we really need people to fill them. As you might have heard me say, the PTA is incredibly valuable for our school and community, so please consider joining - or even running an event! All help is  appreciated.
